What guarantees or security do lenders receive?

Depending on the loan, security may include:

  • Collateral (e.g. vehicles, equipment, real estate)
  • Revenue-backed repayment structures
  • Contractual guarantees

All guarantees are described in the loan documentation.

What is the difference between collateral and a guarantee?

  • Collateral: Physical or financial assets that may be sold if the borrower fails to repay
  • Guarantee: A contractual commitment to repay under defined conditions
